Toronto Zoo: Octopus Exhibit

Toronto Zoo: Octopus Exhibit
Graphic Design, Branding, Wayfinding
A mock of a possible exhibit at the Toronto Zoo. It includes the branding and wayfinding of the exhibit.
 Possible brand logo's.
Chosen logo with colour palette.
The orientation map is made up of a 3D octopus holding the sign with its tentacles. The octopus is madeof fiberglass, as it is a material that can be molded and made into 3D forms, as well as being weather resistant.
For the entranceway signage I wanted it to be visible from far distances, so people would see it and want to find out more about . The tentacles are coming out of the ground and are made of fiberglass with a sign coming off of it showing it is the octopus exhibit.
For the exterior signage I decided to have it on a pole with a 3D octopus hanging onto the pole and pointing to the sign that says octopus exhibit at the toronto zoo. For this 3D octopus as well it would be made of fiberglass as it is strong and weather resistant.
For the directional signage I wanted to go for a different approach than arrows. So I made the directional signage an octopus tentacle that will be pointing in the direction that the exhibit would be in.
As the second form of directional signage I chose to go with the zoos theme of having footprints on the ground to follow. But instead of footprints there are blotches of ink to follow as octopie can squirt ink.
The display panel is for the Giant Octopus in specific. It talks about where it lives, how long it lives, their prey and much more. It has a map that shows where the giant octopus are located around the world, and finally and infographic on the size of the giant octopus compared to an average Canadian male and female. Again the tentacles holding the sign up is made of fiberglass.
